Rising to the Challenge: Local Firefighters Complete Ice Rescue Academy

Caribou, ME - In the last weekend the Caribou Fire Dept. Firefighters Mike Divito and Matt Russell, along with emergency personnel from across the country — including participants from Alaska — recently attended an intensive Ice Rescue Academy hosted by Lifesaving Resources LLC.
Through this specialized training, they achieved certification as Ice Rescue Instructors. With frozen lake activities drawing both residents and tourists throughout the region, this advanced instruction equips their department with enhanced skills and preparedness, strengthening their ability to protect and serve the community during cold-weather emergencies.
