WEST SAYVILLE, NY - Just after the snow storm on February 17th, the West Sayville FD was activated for a motor vehicle accident with reported heavy rescue on Montauk Highway in Oakdale. 2nd Assistant Chief Michael Chiesa was first on scene and confirmed that the driver was pinned in the vehicle. Tools were quickly put into operation from Engine 2 and Rescue 3 in an attempt to extricate the driver, but unfortunately she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Community Ambulance Company. Members operated under the direction of 1st Assistant Chief Patrick D'Onofrio.
