Norwalk, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Friday, February 6, 2026, at approximately 9:24 a.m. on Eastwood Road in Norwalk.
The fire occurred at a two-story residential property after Norwalk 911 received multiple calls reporting a garage fire. Upon arrival, Truck 1 observed smoke coming from the garage, with flames beginning to extend through the upper portion of the garage doors.
Fire crews conducted a primary search of the residence while simultaneously stretching an attack line. The interior door separating the garage from the living space remained closed, which helped limit the spread of smoke and heat into the home. Firefighters cut down the garage doors and quickly extinguished the fire.
The blaze was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes by a first-alarm assignment. The structure was naturally ventilated, and all utilities were shut down and secured. Crews remained on scene for more than an hour to perform overhaul operations and check for hidden hot spots.
No injuries were reported. Four occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause.
