February 1, 2026 — At 7:30 a.m., Special Signal Fire Association / Providence Canteen 4 responded to 486 Putnam Pike in Glocester for a reported second-alarm structure fire, designated as incident #26-048. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions involving a detached structure, with flames rapidly consuming the building and extending through the roof. Mutual aid companies operated on scene, deploying multiple handlines and master streams to bring the blaze under control amid winter conditions. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the fire and prevent further extension, while canteen personnel provided vital rehabilitation and support services to crews operating in the cold.
