COLUMBUS, GA — February 20th — Columbus Fire & EMS collaborated with forensic science courses at Kendrick High School and St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School to offer practical instruction in fire investigation and arson. Students learned about the fundamentals of fire behavior, cause and origin techniques, and the value of evidence preservation from fire investigators. During investigations, the program also emphasized cooperation, collaboration with law enforcement, and scene safety. According to officials, knowing how fires are evaluated improves community safety and aids in prevention.

Outreach initiatives like this raise awareness of fire hazards while assisting students in exploring careers in public safety.
