ATLANTA, GA — February 3rd — Members of the City of Decatur Fire Rescue attended the annual Firefighter Recognition Day at the State Capitol in Atlanta, along with firemen from across Georgia. The event brings together fire service professionals and state leaders to honor the efforts and dedication of firemen, fire inspectors, investigators, and fire marshals who serve communities around the state. Assistant Chief Violante, Captain Storey, Fire Inspectors Abbasi and Dubose, and Fire Apparatus Operator Sims all represented the department during the ceremony. Inspector Dubose, Inspector Abbasi, and Chief Violante also participated in the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed fire marshals, investigators, and inspectors.
