February 21, 2026 — Members of the Barnstable Fire Department’s Capital Improvement Committee traveled to Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton this week to conduct the final customer acceptance inspection of the department’s new Engine 3. The comprehensive three-day inspection involved detailed review of more than 150 pages of specifications and a meticulous examination of every component of the apparatus to ensure it meets all operational standards and district expectations. The objective of the visit was to confirm that Engine 3 will be fully prepared to provide reliable service to the residents and visitors of the Barnstable Fire District for years to come. Following inspection, the apparatus will remain in Wisconsin while a final punch list of items is completed. Once finalized, Engine 3 will be delivered to Allegiance Fire & Rescue for additional finishing touches before its anticipated delivery to the district in April. Department officials expressed sincere appreciation to Barnstable Fire District voters for their continued support of the project, emphasizing that this investment ensures firefighters are equipped with modern, safe, and dependable apparatus to protect the community.
