PITTSBURGH, PA - At approximately 4:45 p.m. on February 2nd, units were dispatched to the 259 box for a reported residential structure fire in the 700 block of Wible Run Road.
Upon arrival, 247AST reported smoke emanating from the side of the structure, and 247EN deployed an attack line to initiate fire suppression efforts. Simultaneously, 260TK and 247TK laddered the structure to support ventilation and access operations. The 259 crew, along with additional first-alarm companies, assisted with overhaul and other fireground duties.
During the incident, a water main break occurred on a nearby street, prompting the 259 Deputy to manage the assignment for 259 units to mitigate potential complications. Only one residence experienced minor water intrusion into a basement, which was adequately handled by the home’s drainage system.
Despite challenging cold weather conditions, all responding companies operated effectively. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.
