Pets Rescued at 2 Alarm Fire in Fall River

FALL RIVER, MA - On Thursday, February 19th around 1:30 p.m., firefighters responded to 99 Aetna St. for smoke coming from an electrical outlet. On approach, Engine 4 reported smoke showing. On arrival, Command reported all occupants accounted for and called a working fire in a six-family wood-frame structure. Firefighters had heavy smoke showing from the third floor and flames showing from the windows on the C side. Firefighters rescued several pets, but two dogs perished in the fire. Command called for a second alarm and to have the Fire Investigation Unit and the Building Inspector respond to the scene.
