The Forsyth County Fire Department honored Captain Shane Lively after he retired after 33 years of service. Lively began his career as a volunteer before becoming one of the department's first paid employees as the organization grew. Throughout his tenure, he played a vital role in establishing and developing numerous of the department's special operations squads.
