One Extricated After Multi-Vehicle Collision on SR 200

(OCALA, FL.) Feb. 16, 2022 – On Wednesday, Feb. 16, at approximately 7:34 a.m. Ocala Fire Rescue's Engine 4, Rescue 4, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer responded to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of SW College Road and SW 17th Street.

Crews arrived at the scene of a three-vehicle collision to find a white pickup truck resting against the driver's side of a flatbed truck and a sand-colored SUV with heavy front damage a few yards away. The drivers of the pickup and flatbed trucks were ambulatory. Two minors occupied the SUV, along with a driver who needed extrication.

Rescue crews removed the minors from the SUV while Engine crews stabilized the vehicle. Using extrication equipment, Engine 4 and Squad 7 removed both driver-side doors and lifted the dash to gain access to the driver.

Once removed, the driver of the SUV was trauma alerted to the hospital. One of the two minors traveling in the SUV was also transported.

No other injuries were reported.

Ocala Police Department, Marion County Fire Rescue, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
