BREVARD COUNTY, FL — February 10th —Brevard County Fire Rescue started a department-wide training rotation at the BCFR Drill Yard, with a focus on live fire operations and advanced rescue techniques. The 2.5-month program will engage all personnel and is intended to improve speedy entry and victim removal tactics in residential and commercial fires. The training also includes advanced medical care for smoke inhalation and burn patients, emphasizing the department's all-hazards response mandate.

On the same day, BCFR sponsored a three-day Large Animal Rescue course led by University of Florida faculty. The school teaches firefighters the skills and equipment expertise required to safely rescue large animals, including horses, that may become stuck or entrapped during an emergency.
