Training Strengthens Multi-Agency Coordination

WAYCROSS, GA — February 5th — This week, Waycross Fire Department staff members finished crisis management training that covered occurrences that occurred at schools. In order to enhance coordination and reaction to school-related situations, the workshop brought together public safety departments from all throughout Southeast Georgia. The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium presented the program, which was hosted by the Blackburn Public Safety Training Center.


Coordination with law enforcement, emergency medical services, and school officials, as well as incident command, communication, and unified operations, were all covered in the training. According to officials, the training is a reflection of national best practices for handling high-risk and complex situations. In order to protect students, employees, and the community during critical crises, department officials pointed out that continuous training guarantees a coordinated approach and fosters solid collaborations.
