Fatal Motorcycle Vs. Pickup Truck MVA in Blooming Grove

BLOOMING GROVE, NY - At 4:47 P.M. on February 15th, the Washingtonville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision on Hulsetown Road in the Town of Blooming Grove.
Subsequent calls to Orange County 911 reported that the operator of the motorcycle was under the vehicle, and the vehicle was on fire. Upon arrival, fire department units found a pickup truck fully involved. The motorcycle was found in the wooded area just east of the pickup truck that was on fire. The fire extended to nearby brush. Washingtonville F.D. Squad 580, Ladder 579, Tanker 577 and Chester Engine 911 operated at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was assessed by Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps personnel and refused further medical aid. The motorcyclist died from injuries sustained.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Blooming Grove Police Department and the New York State Police.
