KILLINGLY, CT — January 13th — A reported basement fire in a single-family home on Carol Avenue prompted the Atwood Hose Fire Company, located at 24 Wauregan Road, to react as part of a first alarm structure fire assignment. To assist with suppression and fireground activities, crews collaborated with mutual assistance partners.
To ensure a consistent supply of water for attacking companies, HT196 deployed roughly 1,300 feet of supply hose to the location from a hydrant on Wauregan Road. In order to preserve the water supply and support coordination, ET196 stayed at the hydrant. Firefighters tried to keep the fire contained and stop it from spreading outside the basement. According to officials, effective coordination of mutual help and a robust water supply are still crucial throughout the Killingly Fire District.
