Training Operations Interrupted by Serious Collision

February 13th — New London, NH — The New London NH Fire Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Andover Road and Main Street while crews were conducting training on Bunker Road. The call came in at 10:56 a.m., and Engine 2 and Utility 1 arrived to discover both vehicles with significant front-end damage.

Firefighters stabilized the scene and extricated the driver of one vehicle using rescue tools. Both occupants from that vehicle were transported by New London EMS with minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was evaluated on scene and declined treatment. Police aided with traffic control and inquiry. The incident emphasizes the significance of a coordinated response by fire, EMS, and law enforcement. All units left the site around 11:30 a.m.
