Mutual Aid Assists at Weare Structure Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WEARE, NH — March 30th — Initial reports of smoke and fire in the basement prompted the Weare Fire Rescue, located at 144 North Stark Highway, to respond to a building fire. Car 1, Tanker 1, Ambulance 2, and Weare Engine 2 all reacted. When the technicians arrived, they found a small fire that extended into the first-floor joists above the furnace and discovered a lot of smoke in the basement. Firefighters finished ventilation to get rid of smoke, advanced handlines, and managed the fire.

Mutual aid partners provide coverage and helped with operations. In order to check for an extension and finish the overhaul, crews stayed on the scene. The homeowner's early detection, according to officials, helped stop the fire from spreading. Because of hidden areas and utilities, basement fires can pose additional difficulties.
