COVENTRY, CT - In the 2900 block of Main Street, a car collided with a utility pole on January 21st, prompting the Town of Coventry Fire EMS to respond to the scene. Cables were hanging across the road, posing a safety risk and necessitating a temporary road closure. In order to address the hazard, firefighters evaluated the driver, secured the area, and collaborated with utility crews and local law police. Traffic was rerouted, and drivers were encouraged to take other routes. Residents were advised by officials to stay away from downed wires and to report any hazards right once. After the incident was cleaned up and it was determined that everything was safe, Main Street reopened.
