COVENTRY, CT — January 14th — To emphasize safety and rescue procedures, the Town of Coventry Fire EMS, located at 1712 Main St., Coventry, CT, held a car extrication exercise and live broadcast a portion of the instruction. A safety briefing that went over the anticipated changes, potential risks, and accountability protocols kicked off the session. Members worked through actual scenarios while demonstrating the usage of e-hydraulic rescue tools, such as a ram, spreaders, and cutters. To give practical experience, a donated Mercury car that was destined for the scrapyard was utilized. Regular extrication training, according to officials, enhances patient access, coordination, and communication in auto accidents. To stay prepared and promote safe operations, Coventry Fire EMS is putting an emphasis on training and public education.
