PENN YAN, NY — January 24th — In response to a reported house fire on Flynn Road, the Penn Yan Fire Department and the Benton Volunteer Fire Department, located at 932 State Route 14A, Penn Yan, NY, provided mutual aid. Tanker 28 helped create a water supply in an area lacking hydrants, while Engine 26 deployed with Benton's FAST crew to provide quick intervention coverage.

In order to promote firefighter safety, accountability, and continuous suppression operations, crews collaborated with incident command and auxiliary agencies. Strong mutual assistance connections throughout Yates County are crucial, particularly for rural disasters where tanker operations and specialist teams are essential, as the reaction made clear. Benton units remained on the scene until they were ordered to leave and then went back to work.
