JAMESTOWN, NY - At 8:09 A.M. on February 14th, Jamestown Fire Dept. was dispatched to 1414 East Second Street for a reported structure fire. Engine 4 went on scene reported smoke showing. Car 1 requested an off-shift of 15+1. Deputy Fire Chief Matt Coon said one person suffered burns and was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment. No other injuries were reported. Coon said other tenants managed to get out safely, and that it appeared the fire started on the second floor and spread to a third floor. The cause of the fire was ruled accidental, from improperly discarded smoking material.
