The Old Saybrook Fire Department responded to a fire alarm off Ingham Hill Road at 6:06 p.m. on February 3, 2026. Shortly thereafter, crews were dispatched on a mutual aid assignment to the Town of Essex for a reported residential structure fire. Firefighters assisted Essex units with fire suppression and overhaul operations, working under cold nighttime conditions to bring the incident under control. The coordinated effort helped contain the blaze and prevent further damage. All units cleared the scene following completion of suppression activities and returned to service.
