The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 9:24 a.m., at 1 Eastwood Road.
The fire occurred in a two-story residential occupancy. Norwalk 911 received multiple calls reporting a garage fire.
Upon arrival, Truck 1 encountered smoke showing from the garage, with flames beginning to extend through the upper portion of the garage doors. A primary search of the residence was conducted while crews simultaneously stretched an attack line. The interior door between the garage and the residence was kept closed, which limited smoke and heat extension into the living space. Firefighters cut down the garage doors and quickly extinguished the fire.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes by a first-alarm assignment. The structure was ventilated naturally, and all utilities were shut down and secured. Crews remained on scene for over an hour performing overhaul operations and checking for hidden hot spots.
There were no reported injuries. Four occupants have been displaced as a result of the fire.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
