BARNSTABLE, MA — February 4th —The Barnstable Fire Department held their annual forceful entry training, with all duty groups taking part in hands-on drills at the station. Trainers from the Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training, which is part of the Barnstable County government, assisted with instruction.

Forcible entry remains a fundamental firefighting function utilized to obtain access during structural fires and other situations. Crews rehearsed tool selection, coordinated motions, and controlled door entry with training props meant to mimic real-world settings. National requirements, such as the NFPA training guidelines, require skill refreshers on a regular basis to ensure safety and efficiency.
