Ice Rescue Drill Held at Sleepy Hollow Lake

On January 12th, members of the Hudson Fire Department joined Columbia County firefighters for ice rescue training at Sleepy Hollow Lake in Athens. Crews took advantage of solid ice conditions to practice multiple rescue techniques, including victim removal and cold-water operations. Training scenarios allowed firefighters to review equipment use, scene safety, and coordinated rescue procedures in a controlled environment. Ice rescue training is an important winter preparedness measure for departments operating near lakes and waterways.
