GARFIELD, NJ - Garfield firefighters made quick work of a house fire at 168 Malcolm Avenue on the evening of February 10th. The blaze broke out on the second floor of a two-story, wood-frame home at approximately 10:44 P.M. Firefighters knocked the flames down within minutes of their arrival, and the fire was declared under control around 11:30 P.M. Mutual aid from Wallington assisted on the scene while companies from Saddle Brook and Elmwood Park covered at empty firehouses. A preliminary investigation suggests that a faulty exhaust fan may have been the cause of the fire.
