Mutual Aid Supports Oneco at Cold-Weather Barn Fire

On January 25, about 6:00 p.m., with temperatures reaching seven degrees, the Oneco Fire Department responded to Ekonk Hill Road for a fully engaged barn fire. Firefighters arrived to find large fires and commenced suppression operations while more resources were requested. Numerous mutual-aid departments responded to provide water, manpower, and scene assistance. Crews operated for several hours under cold conditions to bring the fire under control. Following the incident, Oneco members stayed at the station until around 11:30 p.m. to repack hose and SCBA equipment, guaranteeing readiness for future responses.
