Oneco, CT — January 22nd — The Oneco Fire Company held winter training aimed at producing a draft from iced-over ponds. Firefighters practiced properly cutting through ice to reach water sources and went over cold-weather drafting protocols. With few hydrants in the district, pond drafting remains an important aspect of firefighting operations, even in cold temperatures. The training allowed crews to reinforce water supply skills while working in realistic winter environments.
