Botsford, CT — February 1st — Members of the Botsford Fire Rescue spent the morning making sure fire hydrants were accessible around the district following the winter storm. Crews removed roughly 30 hydrants, ensuring steady water supply in the case of a fire.
Firefighters also thanked local businesses that had already cleared hydrants near their properties, noting that community assistance helps reduce response time during emergencies. Blocked or snow-covered hydrants can delay water supply, making routine checks an important part of winter operations. In addition to hydrant work, members used the time to review first-due areas and conduct pre-planning activities.
