Gainesville Fire Rescue Responds to Two-Vehicle Crash With Entrapment in Northwest Gainesville

January 29, 2026 — Gainesville Fire Rescue crews responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Northwest 39th Avenue and Northwest 43rd Street. Firefighters arrived to find significant vehicle damage and one occupant trapped.


Crews quickly stabilized the scene, performed a safe extrication, and provided patient care. One individual was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Law enforcement and emergency responders managed traffic control while crews worked to clear the roadway. Motorists in the area experienced delays, and officials advised drivers to use caution and consider alternate routes until the scene was fully cleared.
