Alachua County Fire Rescue Celebrates Lieutenant Academy Graduates

January 31, 2026 — Alachua County Fire Rescue Services announced the successful graduation of three employees from the ACFR Lieutenant Academy, marking an important milestone in their professional development and leadership progression.

The Lieutenant Academy is a 56-hour intensive training program designed to prepare personnel promoting to the rank of Lieutenant for the responsibilities of their new role. The curriculum focuses on critical areas including supervision, leadership development, conducting training drills, and advanced fireground tactics and strategy.


Department leadership noted that the program strengthens operational readiness and ensures newly promoted officers are well-equipped to lead crews effectively while continuing ACFR’s commitment to high standards of emergency service and public safety.
