Fully Involved Garage Fire Contained on Persimmon Road in Baker County

February 3, 2026 — Baker County Fire Rescue and the Macclenny Fire Department responded last night to the 10,000 block of Persimmon Road following reports of a structure fire.


Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved garage with flames extending to multiple nearby exposures. Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control and fully extinguish the fire.


Despite the intensity of the fire, the occupants of the home were not injured and were not displaced as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Officials have stated that no foul play is suspected at this time.
