Webster, MA — January 7th — The Webster Fire and Rescue Department, which has its headquarters at 55 Thompson Road, acknowledged the loss that the Uxbridge Police Department had suffered after one of its officers died while on duty. In the Central Massachusetts emergency services community, where police, fire, and emergency medical services collaborate via everyday operations and mutual-aid responses, the incident has had a significant impact.
Strong professional ties that transcend municipal boundaries are established by the regular training and response collaboration of departments across the region. Those linkages are particularly evident when an officer or firefighter is lost. In recognition of the officer's service and the impact on family members, coworkers, and the Town of Uxbridge, Webster Fire & Rescue joined other agencies in the area. Public safety organizations in the area are nevertheless prepared to offer aid and support as required.
