Northborough Fire Department Acknowledges Loss of Uxbridge Officer

Northborough, MA — January 7th — The Northborough Fire Department acknowledged the loss felt by the entire public safety community in the area following the death of an officer from the Uxbridge Police Department early this morning. Police officers and firefighters frequently operate side by side, and the department said even organizations outside of town limits are impacted when one responder dies. Fire authorities sent their sympathies to the Uxbridge community, the officer's family, and the Uxbridge Police Department.


During times of loss, departments throughout central Massachusetts frequently offer mutual support, including operational coverage, peer assistance, and coordination with honor details. According to the Northborough Fire Department, it is still ready to help Uxbridge and the surrounding agencies if necessary during this time. The relevant authorities are still investigating the situation.
