Barre, MA — January 24th — As winter weather continued to affect road conditions, the Barre Fire Department responded to a car accident on Mechanic Street in the morning. When Engine 4 and Ambulance 1 arrived, they discovered a car that had slid off the road because of the ice and snow. While EMS workers assessed the individuals, firefighters secured the area and dealt with car concerns.

The event was resolved without the need for prolonged surgeries, and no significant casualties were reported. Traffic-related calls have increased around the region as a result of the snowy and icy weather. Fire officials are still reminding drivers to slow down, give themselves more time to stop, and exercise caution when driving in the snow. As conditions continued throughout the morning, crews were still on standby for any more replies.
