LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — January 24th: Members of the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department took part in the Colonie High School I-Care Team Chili Cook Off, which was a fundraising and outreach event for various departments and community groups. The department's team won the event's inaugural "VIP Award" for best chili.

Colonie Village Fire Company received additional accolades for People's and Judges' Choice Best Chili, West Albany Fire Department for Judges' Choice Best Mac and Cheese, and South Colonie School Transportation Department for People's Choice Best Mac and Cheese. Explorer Post 475 was also present, with an information table centered on recruitment and coin sales. Explorers met with participants and gave information about the Fire Explorer Program.
