Mendon, MA — January 8th — Core fireground operations were the emphasis of the bi-monthly training for the Mendon Fire Department, which is headquartered at 8 Morrison Street in Mendon, Massachusetts. Officers and firefighters went back to basic techniques that are applied to almost all building fires. Forcible entry, the deployment of several hose lines, and the tossing of ground ladders to windows on the upper floors were among the various evolutions that were carried out. To further emphasize correct placement and cooperation, crews also rehearsed moving the aerial device from Ladder 44 to the roof.
Each evolution was supervised by officers who placed a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and safe operations. These kinds of training seminars help firemen stay proficient, go over regular procedures, and make sure their equipment is ready for deployment. Crews respond to community occurrences more effectively and securely when they receive regular practical training.
