Douglas, MA — January 4th — The Town of Douglas Fire Department helped the Webster Fire Department put out a small fire in a residential building. In response to a request for mutual help, Douglas troops assisted Webster crews in supporting fireground operations. After the fire was contained, firefighters helped with overhaul, extension checks, and ensuring the house was secure.

There were no reported casualties, and the catastrophe only affected a tiny portion of the house. Before leaving the area, technicians made last-minute safety inspections while keeping an eye on utilities. This kind of mutual aid response, which enables departments to share staffing and resources while maintaining coverage in their local communities, is a basic component of fire protection throughout central Massachusetts.
