Members of the Deposit Fire Department held a New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFC) Water Rescue Awareness Level course at their station during the first week of January. The training was tailored to entry-level firefighters and focused on identifying risks, ensuring responder safety, and comprehending basic search and shore-based rescue operations during water-related situations. The Deposit Fire Department also announced plans to host a Rail Car Incident Response course in March, continuing its commitment to regional training opportunities.
