January 20, 2026 — The Biddeford Fire Department is alerting residents to a fundraising scam involving callers claiming to raise money for a new fire truck for the City of Biddeford.

Fire officials state that neither the Biddeford Fire Department nor IAFF Local 3107 Biddeford Career Firefighters is currently conducting any fundraising efforts related to the purchase of a fire truck. All capital funding requests for fire apparatus and major equipment are handled exclusively through the City of Biddeford’s official budget process.

While IAFF Local 3107 does occasionally conduct legitimate fundraising activities, department officials emphasized that those efforts clearly identify the organization and purpose. Any solicitation claiming to represent the fire department without clear identification should be treated with caution.

Residents who receive suspicious fundraising calls or have questions about the legitimacy of a solicitation are encouraged to contact the Biddeford Fire Department directly for verification.

Fire Chief Best thanked the community for its continued support and vigilance in helping prevent fraud.
