Lisbon Fire Department Handles Two-Vehicle Crash with Entrapment

Lisbon, ME - The Lisbon Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision at Route 196 and Summer Street involving serious injuries and one trapped occupant. Quick staffing at the station allowed units to arrive within minutes. Mutual aid from Topsham Fire & Rescue was requested for additional extrication equipment.


Crews provided immediate patient care, secured both vehicles, and successfully extricated one patient before assisting Lisbon Emergency with treatment and transfer. A second ambulance request was canceled once Lisbon Emergency Ambulance 43 arrived from a nearby hospital.


Firefighters assisted with clearing the roadway, while the Maine State Police supported accident reconstruction for Lisbon Police. Patients were transported to hospitals in Lewiston and Portland.
