Engine 1 Responds to Cross Street Fire in Southbridge

Auburn, MA — January 5th — As part of a mutual aid assignment, Engine 1 of the Auburn Fire Department, located at 47 Auburn Street, responded to a reported structure fire at 62 Cross Street in the Town of Southbridge on January 5. When they arrived, Auburn firefighters worked with Southbridge Fire Department units and other responding agencies under the established incident command framework.


Engine 1 was tasked with maintaining scene coverage and assisting with suppression efforts on the fireground. During working emergencies, mutual aid responses let adjacent departments to share personnel and resources while maintaining community safety. Regional fire operations regularly involve these coordinated actions. Personnel from the Auburn Fire Department were released by command and put back into duty after completing their mission.
