January 21, 2026 — The Madawaska Fire Department has announced the appointment of Kris Albert as its new Fire Chief, marking a new chapter in the department’s leadership.


Chief Albert brings more than 14 years of service with the department, along with extensive experience as a paramedic with the Madawaska Ambulance Department. His dual role has provided him with a broad perspective on emergency response, patient care, and coordination between public safety agencies.


Department officials cited Albert’s strong work ethic, steady leadership under pressure, and forward-looking approach as key factors in his appointment.
