The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp was called to a reported structure fire on Route 143 near Whitbeck Road and Linskog Road on January 30 at around 2:30 p.m. A Ravena–Coeymans–Selkirk school bus driver reported the incident after seeing flames on a home's side porch while dropping off students.
The first-arriving unit, Car 6-02, found an active porch fire that was already being addressed by the homeowners. To confirm the fire was fully extinguished and to check for hidden hot spots, one engine was requested to the scene. Firefighters completed checks to ensure the fire had not extended into the structure.Mutual aid units from the Ravena Fire Department and the New Baltimore Fire Company were dispatched on the initial alarm but were later returned to service. Thanks to early notification and quick action, the fire was contained to the porch with minimal damage
