Second Fire of the Day in New Britain

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

New Britain, CT - A fire at 151 Washington Street required mutual aid from several towns because of a fire being fought at another location in town on January 30th. Several more residents were displaced, bringing the total to around 30 from both fires. New Britain firefighters, along with the mutual companies, fought this fire in a three-story wood-frame for several hours. The cause of this fire is under investigation. Because of the simultaneous fires mutual aid was called in to both fire scenes and for station coverage. Mutual was provided by Hartford, West Hartford, UConn, Farmington, Bristol, Southington, Meriden, and Middletown.
