HO-HO-KUS, NJ - On January 26th, the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department was called to a home on Ackerman Avenue due to a reported fire at the height of a winter storm. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that combustible goods had been put too close to a fireplace, resulting in a condition of intense smoke. The homeowner received prompt assistance from volunteers on standby at headquarters in extinguishing the fire and clearing debris from the fireplace area.
