December 24, 2025 — Falmouth Fire/Rescue crews responded at 6:58 a.m. Tuesday to a reported structure fire at the retail plaza located at 1184 Sandwich Road.
Engine 6 arrived on scene and was met by the manager of the Dunkin’ Donuts, who reported a smoke haze and a burning electrical odor in one area of the store. By the time firefighters arrived, the visible haze had dissipated.
Crews conducted a thorough investigation of the affected area and inspected the building’s HVAC roof units. The source of the smoke was determined to be a malfunctioning oven inside the store. As a precaution, gas and electrical power to the unit were secured.
No fire damage was found, and the issue was successfully isolated to the oven. Fire officials reported no injuries and confirmed that the building itself was not impacted. The store is expected to reopen once the equipment issue is resolved.
