Falmouth Fire Rescue Honors Fire Inspector Boyd DeMello on His Retirement

January 22, 2026 — The Falmouth Fire Rescue Department is recognizing Fire Inspector Boyd DeMello as he concludes his final days of service, with January 23 marking his last day on the job.


Chief Timothy R. Smith and department members expressed their sincere gratitude to DeMello for his many years of dedicated service to the Town of Falmouth. Over the course of his career, DeMello played a key role in fire prevention, inspections, communications, and department operations, earning the respect of colleagues across the organization.


Department leadership noted that DeMello’s professionalism, institutional knowledge, and commitment to public safety made a lasting impact on both the department and the community it serves. His contributions extended beyond day-to-day responsibilities, helping shape operations and support the department’s mission over many years.


The department thanked DeMello for his service and wished him and his family the very best as he begins the next chapter of his life.
