January 10, 2026 — Bourne Fire/Rescue responded to a four-alarm commercial structure fire Saturday night at 150 State Road, where crews worked for several hours to bring the fire under control and protect surrounding properties.
Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 6:30 p.m. for a central station alarm. Upon arrival, smoke was visible, prompting the incident commander to request a working fire assignment and additional resources. Due to the size of the building and limited access to the seat of the fire, the incident escalated to a fourth alarm as suppression efforts continued.
Approximately 65 firefighters operated on scene while extensive mutual aid coverage ensured uninterrupted fire and EMS protection throughout the Town of Bourne. Hazardous materials crews monitored conditions during the incident, with no additional hazards detected. The fire was brought under control just after midnight.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury that did not require transport. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Bourne Fire/Rescue and the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit.
Officials expressed sincere gratitude to all mutual aid partners and assisting agencies for their support on scene and for covering the town during the extended incident, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation in keeping the community safe.
