WALLINGFORD, CT - On January 27th at 2:51 P.M., the WFD was dispatched to a residence on Windswept Hill Rd. for a reported fire.

On arrival, Engine 1 reported smoke showing from the rear and the roof. Upon conducting a 360, heavy fire was showing from the rear picture window and through the roof. Engine 1 advanced a line to extinguish fire while the truck cut the roof. Engine 3 assisted in laddering the building and advancing a back up line to the second floor while searching.

The fire was contained to the family room, but there was major interior damage from smoke and heat. The fire was located in a part of town with no hydrants, so tankers set up portable ponds for water supply.

The following units responded: E1, E3, E2, E8, Sq8, Tanker 8, Tanker 7, Car 4 and Car 2, Medic 1 and Medic 2, Meriden FD for RIT, and North Branford Tanker 3 for an additional tanker.
